Hello all,

Try this, I think the picture was from a negative that was flipped over (I seem to recall this has happened before). Look at it though a mirror and see if it looks better that way. If I am correct the trees in the near background are the area of the old Fountain Flats Hotel and this does appear to be Clepsydra. I wanted to make it into Jet, but I doubt Jet could have changed that much in even 50 years and there is no nearby hole/pool next to Jet. I think I have to agree with most everyone else, this is Clepsydra.
Greetings from Bozeman, Montana. I got your email address from a Ranger
at Old Faithful. The attached picture was taken at a Yellowstone geyser
in 1956. I do not know which geyser it is. My wife and I talked with two
Rangers at Old Faithful who have each worked in the Park for 35 years.
Neither knew which one it might be. But they told us about your
organization and they felt certain you'd be able to identify it.

We would certainly appreciate any information you could give us. My
family was on a vacation to Yellowstone that summer from North Carolina
and I was six years old! I would love to return to this exact location.

Thank you.
