There can be, I think, little doubt but that those springs are related to the Terrace Springs, just up the road to the north. Those springs are Yellowstone-cool, with temperatures only a little above 60 deg C (140 deg F), and in my experience (and I haven't been to these springs in many years) these by the campground are cooler still. The "eruption" visible at Terrace Spring itself is entirely (or almost entirely) due to the evolution of carbon dioxide.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With that, if there was any sort of eruption from the spring near the campground, then I'd bet it was from CO2.
