<DIV>That, however, is not my source for the picture. The original actually
appeared first in an 1874 publication in France. The original are was by Edouard
Riou, as engraved by Theophile Henri Hildebrand. The same team also did the
illustrations of Castle and Crested, and of Grotto. Unstated but rather certain
is that Riou based his art on photos by William Henry Jackson. (Where they
really made their money, apparently, was in working with Jules Verne, for whom
they did the art for the first editions of "Around the World in 80 Days",
"20,000 leagues Under the Sea", and etc.)</DIV>
