<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>1st, <STRONG><EM><U>FAN & MORTAR</U></EM></STRONG>! Tom
Carberry (along w/ Butch Bach) walked up on this at 0911 this AM.
Tom described seeing High, Gold, and Angle ie to 2 feet or so with main and
east vents steaming moderately as he arrived--very little from bottom
vent. He quickly learned that didn't matter when East erupted to 10-15ft
and the fun was on! The breeze gave those arriving immediately
after great views of both Mortar and the Fan vents. Plus Rainbow!
</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Grotto (which began at 0821 yesterday) still was on at 0100 per Dave
DeWitt, and off by maybe 0500. At 0700 Variable Pool was full and in
overflow, and Marathon Pool was down "substantially". The folks at
or headed for the cage got a headstart toward Fan & Mortar. </DIV>
<DIV>Just as well since the recovery hot period at 1124, called by Dave
Goldberg, had a duration of over 10minutes plus a restart at 1155, but no
go.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
