<DIV>I have hardly been in the geyser basins -- briefly a week ago yesterday,
twice on tour, and briefly on Thursday is all, and finally briefly today. So I'm
going to report exactly one geyser.</DIV>

<DIV>Giant has NOT erupted since August 5, the interval now over 9 days.
Apparently Grotto has had a series of "odd" eruptions, namely (if I understood
correctly) either of very short durations or of mid-range "mini-marathon"
durations. Giant (apparently, again) has had rather weak hot periods, even if of
occasional long-ish durations. Today, as of about 1400, Grotto had been in
eruption for 8 hours or more, so people are hoping for a good, solid marathon.
