After the Daisy at 1421, it was not seen again. People weren't always in sight of the thing, but there is a feeling that that might have been a single 6+ hour interval.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grand erupted at 1531 ( I = 7h 25m) and at 2253e (I = 7h 22m).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Today, May 3... a decent day, 51 degrees, some sun, wind mild to moderate most of the time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grand erupted at 0605e (I = 7h 12m) and then -- the biggie of the day -- it played again at 1233, an interval of just 6h 28m. Yay. But that's not all. The eruption turned out to be a G2*Q. The second burst lasted between 3 1/2 and 4 minutes and led to a total duration of 13m 18s. West Triplet had started at 1123. Near the end of its 43 minute duration, Rift began to steam very heavily. I was sure it was going to start, but no -- West Triplet quit and Rift died down, during Turban. Grand erupted on the next Turban, which thought about being a delay interval (23 minutes) -- Grand dropped a little at about 18 minutes, but then came back and produced a pretty good surf before an explosive start.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Steve and I saw a very nice Uncertain at 1216 while waiting out that last Turban cycle.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The other biggie of the day. At 1017, following at least three delays of varied sorts, Grotto erupted without Grotto Fountain. The trigger was South Grotto Fountain, Central Vents and a strong attempt by Startling. Probably a few minutes before Grotto's the start, unknown to us at the moment, Giant was having a weak hot period.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hot periods were at 0815 ie (weak, India less than half covered) and approx 1000 (very weak, India hardly touched).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fountain was ie at 0808, then erupted at 1426. That 6 1/2 hours was, I'm afraid but do not know for sure, a single interval. The 1426 was a super eruption -- many huge (I mean really) bursts and a duration of a touch more than 27 minutes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I saw Frolic at 0734, while out at Fountain which I then left before its eruption.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>By the way -- "Everybody" is noting that very little seems to be happening out in the Kaleidoscope Group. Today, for aexample, I was out at Fountain for abouot 1 1/2 hours. In that time I saw a few NTFL and one Honey's Vent. And nothing else.
