Not that this is a big deal.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Following the four consecutive intervals of less than 4 days, Fan and Mortar guaranteed at 5+ day interval. After two very minor episodes of some Main Vent splashing during the morning hours, F&M finally had a good event cycle starting at about 13:00. But I'll leave out the details this time. There was no eruption. Overall, the cycle was shorter in duration than those of the past few days and from the start the water level in Fan's vents was poor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Giant had two hot periods during the day. At about 6:45, lasting roughly 8 minutes, was a post-marathon hot period. At 13:36 (during F&M's event cycle) was another hot period, unexpected, that lasted perhaps 4 minutes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Grand had an interval of 6h 32m, 2 bursts (I was at Daisy)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was at Daisy because up there I saw by far the strongest boiling and surging in Splendid that I've seen in a _long_ time. This was from the main vent, not the side boiler, and some surges were at least 3 feet high with heavy overflow. And they were sustained, lasting as long as 12 or 15 seconds. As I watched, I realized that Daisy was repeatedly trying to start, then stopped AND that each time that happened, the water level in Brilliant Pool obviously fluctuated, dropping maybe 2 inches when Daisy had a "false start." Daisy's interval was 2h 58m, and there was essentially no wind at all. So I wish I'd been up there for the next eruption. Did Brilliant-Splendid do anything? Did Daisy have false starts? Mind you, this is the very next interval under identical (except hotter air temperature) conditions, and the interval was just 2h 04m.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is now confirmed that Plume quit, with the last observed eruption at 20:xx on the evening of Monday, August 9.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I apologize. My report the other day of Beehive at 15h 15m was incorrect; it was 13h 15m. Overnight 8/12-13, the interval was 16h 53m, Indicator of 19m.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sometime between the morning of Wednesday, 8/11 and 08:00 on this day 8/13, the boiling action in (East) Sentinel Geyser shifted from the riverside vent to the hillside vent AND the marker was washed away.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Scott</DIV></BODY></HTML>
