Happy Earth Day and Yellowstone opening weekend. Spent some time at Norris: Ledge Geyser-very little play from the "finger" vents. No splashing was seen in the main vent. Arsenic Geyser was having eruptions every 11 to 23 minutes, lasting about 2 minutes, and reaching up to 4 feet. Between these eruptions it would sometimes briefly overflow and splash to about a foot. Constant Geyser is semi-broken. At 18-25 minute intervals the pool would fill, have heavy waves and roiling, but only once in 2 hours did it actually erupt, and that eruption only reached about 6 feet. Whirligig Geyser is active but I did not see it erupt during my two hours in the area. Steamboat Geyser was mostly in south mode with a few concerted eruptions. The largest jets reached about 20 feet. Vixen Geyser-lots of fun-when I walked up it was in an eruption that lasted at least 10 minutes and was overflowing all the way to Tantalus Creek. This was followed by a few eruptions at short intervals, then the intervals jumped to around 40 minutes. Following the eruptions sometimes Vixen would completely drain, other times it stayed full. The tallest jets were around 20 feet. 1001ie, d>10m 101348, d=2m 25s 101846, d=0m 15s 102011. d=0m 25s 102159, d=0m 22s 102351, d=0m 38s 102707. d=0m 43s 103240, d=0m 51s 104443, d=1m 25s 112047, d=4m 22s 120017, d=3m 51s 122754, d=3m 28s Pear Geyser was full but not erupting.
