A bit late with this report, but getting settled in WYS. I have not yet been in the park. Wed 5-13-15 out of Green River UT Jim and I observed Chaffin Ranch geyser erupt @ 1315 D=33min. The last 20min were intermittent and foamy. A cattle guard has improved access. It is no longer necessary to open and close the barbed wire gate. The road was in good shape. A sign has been posted about some historic activity. Based on observations of water on the platform and our wait time, it appeared the intervals were over 2 hours. The J Wesley Powell River History VC reported that only 4 eruptions of nearby Crystal geyser were recorded last year. Due to time constraints, we did not go out there. There was several inches of snow in W Yellowstone yesterday AM, but most had dissipated by mid-afternoon. Happy gazing!
