From stjohn.2 at osu.edu Wed Oct 1 12:32:20 2014 From: stjohn.2 at osu.edu (Stjohn, James) Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2014 19:32:20 +0000 Subject: [Geysers] Geyser Hill erupter ID'd Message-ID: This is a follow-up on the mystery geyser I saw last week. Based on a suggested ID sent to me (thanks!), the Geyser Hill erupter I witnessed via webcam on 25 September 2014 was likely Roof Geyser. I used sightlines from the OF webcam to known features on Geyser Hill satellite images and compared the location of Roof Geyser with a partial webcam still of the feature in question, just after a minor eruption that evening. It is consistent with Roof Geyser. I've modified my posted eruption observations on geysertimes.org accordingly. If folks want to keep an eye on it, it looks like it's just below and just to the left of the boardwalk sign to the right of the Lion Complex bench. Seeing it play is a first for me - cool! The current version is 1.3.6. You can verify that you are up to date by going to the About page and the newest version will have the version code at the bottom. Also going forward in the near future we will be transferring the sync framework to a newer and better version and it would be helpful if everyone could update asap when it that update is released so the old version of the sync adapter can be taken down from the server. I plan on sending another email when that upgrade happens in a month or two. Finally to stem off the most popular question before some one asks it, no we do not have an Apple app yet and yes we are looking into making one in the future. Happy Gazing! We will now be supporting Android system versions 4.0 and above (currently we support 2.3.3 and above). This will allow us to use some new features that only work in the new platform versions and display the data in better ways.
