[Geysers] El Tatio info

Per the new "South American Handbook 2014", the following about El Tatio,  
Chile:
 
"Following recent accidents a series of stone walls and wooden walkways has 
 been built around the geysers..." The book also notes an entry fee of  
US$8.
 
A while back, somebody on this list was planning a trip to El Tatio.  
Wondering if that happened and if he, or anybody, can say more about this.
