Thank you for your note, Suzanne. I am so sorry to learn of Paul's passing away. Sending my sincere condolences, hugs to you, Suzanne, and to your family. Paul will be deeply missed. He had an eagle eye that could see splashing in Main or water rising in Mastiff before anyone even noticed, and a sharp wit that kept us all entertained while waiting for either of those events. His passion for the geysers and willingness to share knowledge was sincerely appreciated. Nearly all my favorite geyser memories involve you and Paul, along with Linda and Kevin. From Paul calling my very first Giant (from the start) on 9.4.06, to last fall, when we all were soaked by Fan & Mortar on Aug. 30, 2012, you've all been an integral part of my gazing family. I also appreciate that Paul supplied the gorgeous photo of Grand Geyser that is on the Transactions 12 cover. Please find a very special photo attached, Paul and John Warnock celebrating (and getting wet) at Giant Geyser's eruption on Sept. 4, 2006. John is far right, and Paul is next to him, both with arms outstretched. Take care. Pat Snyder -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... It is much consolation to the family that he passed peacefully and was spared dealing with the end stages of the disease. On the other hand, it was still a shock to us. He had been fairly stable until Monday, and then suddenly went downhill fast. > > He and I appreciated the friendships we formed with you in the geyser basins, and I will always treasure the memories. > > We have a vacation in Yellowstone planned for July 20-28, and I am hoping we can have a memorial get together in remembrance of Paul for friends that are there. Something upbeat to remember all the good times we had. And I do also hope to be there for Labor Day weekend to raise a glass for Paul at the wine and cheese party. > > I hope he is looking down on us all to witness many eruptions of Morning, Giant, Fan and Mortar, Splendid, Steamboat, Grand... and many, many more. > > With much love, > Suzanne > _______________________________________________ > Geysers mailing list > Geysers at lists.wallawalla.edu >
