[Geysers] An old postcard

I'm sure most of you have seen this postcard before.  But I thought it
was fun and timely.  

Now the question is, was the water really at that level or did the
illustrator get carried away with the blue tint?  

Has anyone seen the original black and white image that the postcard was
based upon?
