Electronic temperature loggers documented a major eruption of Steamboat Geyser on 31 July 2013, 19:30:03 MDT, plus or minus 30 seconds.

The last major eruption of Steamboat Geyser occurred on 23 May 2005, in the time range 14:40 to 14:41 MDT.
