The influx of gazers ebbed today. I hardly got to say "hello" to many
(and there have been many), and it seems next Labor Day is forever
away.

Obviously I spent most of my day at Great Fountain, which was stubborn
about coming to overflow. It was such a beautiful day, it was no
struggle to be anywhere in the park today. The meadows are golden
brown, and the elk are gathering on the W Entrance road. Wish you all
could have been here this Labor Day!
