As someone on the OF webcam chat page noted, I reported in my article about Grand's bursts in the April 2012 issue of the Sput that Grand's mean interval had been in excess of 9 hours in 2010 and 2011 through mid-August. The person making the post also noted Grand's intervals had been much shorter "this year." The mean interval for 2011 through August 17 was 9h13m per Ralph Taylor's data and analysis. Using data from geysertimes.org, the average started declining in the last 10 days October. In November the mean was 7h35m for closed intervals. In March the mean for closed intervals appeared to bottom out at 7h14m. In April the mean for closed intervals increased to 8h01m. Lynn Stephens Thank you to Ralph Taylor for summarizing results of his analysis of data provided by the electronic monitors. Thank you to the NPS, Ralph Taylor, and GOSA for providing the equipment. Thank you to the NPS for sponsoring Ralph's research permit. Thank you to GOSA, and the webmaster Don Might, for making Ralph's analysis available on the geyserstudy.org website. Most especially though, thank you to everyone who has entered times into Geysertimes.org to make it available for people such as myself to analyze it. , and to Jake Young for providing Geysertimes.org. (Hopefully I haven't forgotten acknowledgements.)
