[Geysers] Known and likely eruptions of Morning this year

Occasionally transmissions from the Fountain overlook are heard at Grand, and vice versa. I can usually hear and talk to MaryBeth, Jim, and Kitt from Flood and Till, so I sometimes drove to Flood to send transmissions to the Upper Geyser Basin using the FRS radios. Lynn Stephens

Emily and I will be in the park this coming week, and we will spend some of our time at Fountain, details TBD depending on prospects for Fan and Mortar (which Emily has never seen). I'd be very interested to see other responses to Paul's inquiry so that we can set up "shifts" if applicable.

Next question: How to get the word out if we do see Morning? How far away from Fountain can most radios be heard if we're transmitting from Fountain? How far would we have to drive to get within reception range of other gazers? Is there another way of spreading the word? It would be sad to be there when Morning started, and not be able to tell anybody.

Do gazers spend any time at Fountain during
the 5-8 hours after a Fountain eruption? If so, how often?

Suzanne and I will be in the park the week
before Labor Day, and instead of waiting for the next one burst Grand, perhaps
our time should be spent at Morning.

So in the interest of keeping things straight, so far, we have:

June 13, in the morning or around midday, seems likely based on signs
that have since been associated with eruptions

June 20 1231

June 21 1040

June 30 0616

August 4 0454ie likely, seen from the road but not immediately
investigated, but later behavior was consistent with an eruption

August 10 0842 initially inferred based on observation of the area
hours later, but confirmed by John Cox via Karen Low

August 13 before 0730, likely based on signs
