Uncertain 1602
About 1455 the OFVEC called to tell us that a severe storm was supposed
to go around OF to the north. Half the sky had dark clouds, we watched it
and listened for thunder and looked for lightning. The window for Grand was
1215-1615. As clouds came in from behind us, we managed one more Turban and
Grand started at 1541. The three bursts were a surprise and of course Grand
blew toward the historic bench and that end of the seats. The high third
burst drenched that area. Uncertain was splashing heavily when we walked by
and we heard it called as we got to Castle. We just made it back to the
Lower Store before the rain at 1610 and several minutes of hail. As I drove
past the hills just before Midway Geyser Basin, I noticed they were white
with the hail.
