Um, I think I tried to type 01 July but it was late!

The Steamboat future-forecast logger is still in the shop...

Ralph -

Thanks! I know GOSA sprung for the future-forecast loggers. Kinda pricey,
but a good test. I know where a lot of gazer will be on the night of July
10.

Now, what does the Steamboat future-logger say?

Pentamorning of 7/2

I've been out of the geyser basins for a couple of days, but:

Fan and Mortar erupted overnight Thursday night. They were observed to
be post-eruptive around 0420, for an interval of 5 days and change.

Penta was called on the radio just as several of us were leaving the
Upper Basin Friday morning around 0900, give or take. I don't have any
details other than that it looked like a full, water-phase eruption in the
rear-view mirror.

As has been previously reported, Porcelain Basin below Porcelain Terrace
is well flooded for the first time since the bottom dropped out in 1995.
The patchwork of orange, red, and opalescent blue pools is coming back,
although it's still drier than it was in the '80s and early '90s.
