[Geysers] About Vault

The water level in Vault begins to drop as soon as Giantess starts, 
lowering about a foot each hour.  Its initial eruption then starts from an 
empty hole with several minutes of thumping as the water pulses and rises 
back into view.  All subsequent eruptions take place inside the empty 
crater and at best splash a few drops above ground level.

Based on a quick scan of previous listserv posts and logbook entries,
the Vault initial takes place 4-6 hours into Giantess.

Vault used to have independent series of eruptions as well.
Within the last 15 years this behavior only occurred in 1998, when Vault 
was seen on a weekly basis from January through the October end of season. 
the first of these independent series took place 10 days post-Giantess. 
Giantess did not erupt again until August 1999.

I remember that Giantess used to be fond of erupting in "series" with 
intervals of 1-6 weeks followed by many months of quiet.  There was 
an impressive burst of activity ten years ago, with eruptions on
