All times, unless otherwise noted, are from Friday, July 17.
Today was one of the warmest days we've had this season. I'm not sure
what the temps were, but there were plenty of times when I wished I
didn't have my volunteer uniform on. There was very little wind today.
It did get gusty a few times, but for the most part, it was calm.
Today was one of those days where you feel like you're baking...
No Fan and Mortar yet. There was an event cycle overnight probably,
according to Clark. This afternoon, there was a double River Pause
that had a 16 minute Bottom Vent eruption. The water levels, when the
vents came back on, just never really were there. There was another
event cycle about 3-4 hours later with Bottom Vent erupting, but Dean
said that the water levels were never that good (again). The rest of
us were waiting at Grand.
Kitt heard Beehive overnight at 0308ie. I was going to go out for it,
as I had my alarm clock set for 0230, but I just didn't feel like
getting out of bed. Too bad... It erupted again at 1547 (Indicator
1532) for an interval around 12h40m.
Kitt also saw 3 Grand's today. 0113, 1007, and 2140. 3 Grands in one
day is impressive enough. It is even more impressive when you consider
that the last interval was 11h33m.
Here are today's other geyser times:
Daisy 0600, 0822ie, 1044, 1256, 1459ie, 1919, and 2137
Fountain 0830vr, 1430 (d=32)
Riverside 0831, 1424, 2018ie
Plume intervals were between 55-70 minutes
Artemesia 0858
Grotto 0520ie, 0921ns, 1616 (the 1616 eruption was without Grotto Fountain)
Oblong 0913, 1555ie, 2023
Lion 1254ie, 1428, 1600
Depression 1422
Plate 1527, 1951ie
Castle 1628 minor
Penta 1630
Rocket 1130
Rift & West Triplet 1728ie
I am going to wake up in the morning, and hope that Beehive holds off
until a little after 0530 so that I can see it in the morning. I work
the afternoon-late night shift tomorrow, but I will probably drop by
the VC for times after work so that I can send a report. Hopefully Fan
and Mortar will erupt in the morning so that I can see it.
