Jeff Henry was given a copy of the whole BBC show on DVD. He said he hadn't watched it yet. --- On Sun, 4/5/09, Mary Beth Schwarz <schwarzmb at gmail.com> wrote: From: Mary Beth Schwarz <schwarzmb at gmail.com> Subject: [Geysers] BBC Show (Schwarz) To: geysers at lists.wallawalla.edu Date: Sunday, April 5, 2009, 11:10 AM The BBC people told us that the geyser gazer segment would probably never be seen in the United States because each hour of programming has about 10 minutes of commercials. The 3 shows about Yellowstone are 50 minutes long and each one has a 10-minute "extra" so in the UK it fills the whole hour (without commercials). The extra 10 minutes can easily be dropped when shown on Discovery or other American channels. It appears that the only way to see the segments with Jeff Henry and the geyser gazers is to buy the DVD with all 3 parts. I do not know when this DVD might be available. Trish Miller in Oxford reported that the geyser gazer segment had Jim talking about Lion, Barbara Lasseter at Grand, gazers watching a minor at Castle, Cynthia Barwin at Fan & Mortar (not ie), and Dick Powell talking about cleaning thermal features. Several geysers are shown in eruption including Riverside, Grand, Sawmill, and Beehive. The Animal Planet show, Yellowstone Battle for Life, was a special using film from the BBC shows, but it was cut to 2 hours and the narration is new, so it is quite a different show. No people are in this version.
