     The younger Hoppes (Karl, Lori, and Ben) have to leave today, so some 
Hoppes were out watching hot periods last night after a disappointing 
recovery hot period from the 17h45m marathon (ending at about 1000 12 July) 
at 1847 (d=10m11s).

     This hot period I saw on the radio and wanted to let folks know about 
so they would not be zooming in to see Giant this weekend.   I am sure that 
the Hoppes and others will have details to add later.  At 0704 Feather 
started followed by Feather Sat. and Rust.   It was cool and steamy, but 
Hoppe reported at ~ 0711 Cave was about 1 foot and Kitt said that Mastiff 
was up to the height of Giant's cone.  At 0712 Giant was having surges 
filling the cone.  GIANT started at 0714 (d=102m Kitt Barger).

     Thanks Hoppes for two Giants!

     Yesterday we had thunderstorms at 2056 and 2224 with welcome rain and 
not so welcome lightning.  It is a cool clear morning.
