[Geysers] Historic Bijou Dormancy?

I recall last summer hearing that Bijou Geyser was dormant during the very 
early years of the Park.  At the same time, the GIP was a full-size pool, and 
water levels in Catfish and Mastiff were higher than they are now.  However, I 
have been unable to locate any sources that confirm this.

What is the full story?
