Excellent! Thanks for the information on this collection.

Most interesting to me were:

1) Giant Geyser, 1921: isn't that a large steam cloud in the exact location of
the GIP? Looks like the GIP could be having a small eruption.

2) White Velvet Spring: Currently known as Velvet Spring in Shoshone. It
looks like the back vent is completely missing. In its place is what looks
like a large sheet of whitish algae (hence the name White Velvet?).

3) Rustic Geyser: A set of nice photos, one of which shows today's Composite
Geyser (in the background) as it was over 100 years ago. Small runoff
channels but unclear whether it was active then.

4) Union Geyser: The cone as it used to be. Note stick jammed into south
cone. Damn vandals were already at work in the 1870s.

5) Yellow Sponge: Two photos, one clearly today's Yellow Sponge at Shoshone
and the other clearly not.

6) Minute Man Geyser: Look at the beading. If you are wondering, yes, the
beading has eroded back probably 3-5 feet since that photograph was taken.

7) Spike Geyser: Mislabeled as Pearl Geyser at Norris, photo is clearly of
Spike Geyser at Heart Lake.
