I think you already know about last night's failed marathon recovery, shortly after 0300. But to repeat, the marathon that began at 2047 on Tuesday ended at 1807 yesterday, so a duration of a little more than 21 hours. The recovery was therefore about 9 hours later. Reports say that the recovery hot period appeared (well, in pitch dark, seemed) to be weaker than the 14-minute hot period plus restart of Tuesday evening. Anyhow, most of today was fruitlessly spent in the vicinity of Grotto and Giant. After arriving to an empty parking lot but then finding that Giant had not erupted, I got a hot period at 0722 (d = 6m 08s); it actually looked pretty good and was by far the best of the day. I think there was a bathtub in the vicinity of 0815. Then what "fun", whith hot periods as follows: 0856 (2m 50s), 0959 (8m 16s, some Cave but still not great), 1057 (1m 48s), 1201 (2m 04s), 1313 (4m 37s), 1408 (2m 21s) and 1517 (6m 33s, but SW and Feather only and it never higher than about 3 feet). And so I departed the exciting scene. Well, who knows? Grotto Fountain was the first post-marathon event, at 0925 (d ~ 23m) with no Grotto. the next was at 1353 (d ~ 21m) and that time Grotto joined in at 1402. It was still going as of about 1530. Riverside 0830 and 1516. Daisy running short, with [0605??? -- I was in plain sight but did not see this eruption, and I don't think it happened; frankly, the geyser prediction ranger also had Castle at 0548E but it was entering steam phase at 0545 and she had Grand at 0347E yet the post-GHP people saw it start at 0334]; but then Daisy was 0807, 1020, 1238, and 1450. Grand was 0334 (T2C) and 1001 (1 burst). Castle noted above as entering major steam phase at 0545. Several of us, while relaxing in the shade by the parking lot were treated to Beehive at 1306 (Indicator at 1301) and then Lion initial at 1307. Lion #2 was at 1444. Depression 0937. Aurum 1003.
