[Geysers] Is this Kaleidoscope Geyser?

Janet,

>From your description and the photo, it certainly seems to be
Kaleidoscope. Your photo is interesting, because I too saw some huge
eruptions from that general area, but they weren't eruptions  in the style
of the one you photographed. I'm attaching a photo of the one I saw, which
I'm fairly certain was Drain. This wasn't even one of the biggest bursts.
One burst was the height of the ridge behind it, as seen from Jet's
vicinity. This shot was from in front of the Thud group. Some of the
biggest bursts were sharply angled (to the left as seen from here)and very
explosive.The photo was taken on July 18th.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kaleidoscope and Drain were having alternating
series.
