The Giant Information Relay Service is delighted to bring you this report 
from Dave Goldberg:

Giant erupted today, November 19, at 1610.  Dave had been at Giant all 
afternoon and reported the following activity:

1257 Giant hot period, d=4m35s.  No Feather Satellite.
1358 Giant hot period, d=2m10s.  Feather Satellite active.
1440ie Grotto Fountain
1441 Grotto
1500 Giant hot period, d=2m.  No Satellite.
1548 Rocket Major

All 3 hot periods were quite weak, but after each one, Bijou came on 
strong--first in steam phase, and then roaring, with powerful depth-charging 
in Mastiff and activity from the vent between Bijou and Catfish.  After the 
third hot period, Dave was just hoping the eruption would be before dark. 
Then:

1600 Giant hot period
1604 Feather Satellite joins
1605 Bijou turns on, Mastiff surging to as much as 4 feet
1607 Mastiff drops, Bijou goes into steam, Feather stays on
1610 Giant

Dave had no height estimate other than "Big."  He also didn't stay for a 
duration because it was getting dark and he didn't have a light.

Interval in the vicinity of 5 1/2 days.
