Another day in early and out early. Giant still has not erupted since June 17, and it will exceed 12 days (at least) as Grotto went into marathon today, starting at 0550. There was a Giant hot period at 0631ie per Lynn, then a fairly decent hot period at 0744 (Mastiff briefly to about 4 feet, d ~ 8m 15s. When first on the way out into the basin, I caught the end of Uncertain (0659ie) just 3 minutes before Sawmill started from a low pool. There had been a deep drain, and all other members of the group were still very low. Then I saw Slurp ie at 0705 -- that's the 3rd time I've seen it this year. Lynn had called Rift as ie at 0621. It was off before 0700 and Grand erupted on the first Turban after Rift quit, at 0716. Another good ol' T1Q, d = 11m 07s. Daisy at 0758 and 1011, so it is maintaining the somewhat-shorter intervals (2h 13m). Lion at 1003 initial and 1129. Plume had consecutive intervals of 63, 61, 59 and 58 minutes. I don't know when Beehive erupted yesterday. Today it was at 1042 after an Indicator of 14 minutes. The new thing at Biscuit Basin was splashing vigorously from both the clear water and muddy water vents, both reaching 2 to 4 feet high. I also saw the small squirting geyser that is roughly halfway between the new thing and Black Opal Pool. This was at 0640. At roughly 1145 I saw only the clear water vent. I caught Labial again, first time in about a week, at 1219, and within the next 10 minutes also saw Bead, Narcissus (short duration), and Box Spring. Van tour yesterday, apparently another tomorrow, and an in-town commitment for Saturday. Scott Bryan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
