[Geysers] Grand geyser's history

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find more about the history of 
Grand Geyser's eruptions.  I checked Scott's book, and while the entry under 
Grand is really wonderful to read, it doesn't talk about whether the pattern 
of Grand's eruptions has changed over the years.  Marler has a bit more, but 
I really could use more information.  I am particularly interested in 
finding out what is known about its pattern back in the early days of the 
park (in particular the late 1870s).  Marler says that the eruptions were 
not as frequent and were more erratic pre1920s, but that's kind of vague. 
Is there any more specific information available?

I don't have anything in my notes from the "please don't photocopy" 
interlibrary loan copy of the Hayden Survey Report for 1878 I had to give 
back a couple of months ago, either, and I know I would have leaped on that.
