In 2004 we visited the unnamed thermal area NW of Elk Park and discovered
that a hot spring at the NE corner of the area (a large turbid grey
churning spring) had small millet-sized hollow "sulfur eggs" floating in
it and deposited around the margins.
I can think of only one other spring, Cinder Pool, in the Hundred Spring
Plain area at Norris, where molten sulfur exists beneath the water's
surface.
Are there any others in the Park?
