One of our local stations has good information about the Mt. St. Helens eruption on 3.8.05. Unfortunately, they also want you to register to read the stories. For those interested, here's the link: http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/ kgw_030805_news_mount_st_helens.11c6be7e1.html The article does say: For now, the USGS does not believe Tuesday's eruption was caused by part of the new lava dome collapsing. A new dome has been rising inside the crater beside the old dome built up since the 1980's. I will be interested in knowing how much of the "whale back" will be left today, given that scientists can get a good look inside--for the first time in weeks, we're expecting clouds and rain.
