Not in the park yesterday and as a tour escort today, but a couple of things to note: Fan and Mortar erupted, in the night again, but this time there clearly was somebody there, since the reported time was 0344. Beehive yesterday was at 0608 and then at 1848 = 12h 40m. Today it was at 1240, so this interval of 17h 52m. But what I really wanted to report. With my tour group at Fountain Paint Pots, we actually saw (I think -- I reported it as near start) Fountain Geyser start erupting at 1014. Not until I was on-site did I realize that it did so withOUT ANY activity by Spasm. No. Spasm was not only quiet, but 10 minutes into Fountain it acted as a drain for Fountain's runoff with no standing water visible. And the runoff from Spasm to Jelly and beyond was dry, too, and Jelly was down 4 or 5 inches. There had also been no Twig and no Sizzler/SFP. But Jet was active frequently. And Clepsydra seemed "normal." So another weird Fountain event. Note -- some gazers were leaving Fountain as we arrived, advising me that it was "nowhere close" to erupting. I wondered -- might this possibly have produced a wild phase? I do not know -- I had a tour and could not stay beyond that 10 minute mark.
