Pat, The overlook for Potts Hot Spring Basin is the large pullout to the east of the road about a mile north of West Thumb Junction, past Lone Star Geyser up the hill and around the bend to the right. There is a clear view of the lake and of the central portion of Potts Hot Spring Basin at the foot of the hill. Thanks for the update, Mike. Would you please describe where the overlook for Potts Hot Spring is? I have wanted to observe that area and am not really clear on where to pull over to best see it.
