Young boy burned after falling into Yellowstone hot spring

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. A nine-year-old boy from Kentucky was
severely burned this morning, after falling into a hot spring pool in
Yellowstone National Park.

Park officials say the accident happened about nine o-clock, near the
north end of Yellowstone Lake.

The boy -- Matthew Luke Hoang of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky -- suffered
second- and some possibly third-degree burns on 40 percent of his body.
He's being treated at the burn center in Salt Lake City.

The boy was initially treated at Lake Clinic, then at Eastern Idaho
Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls before being flown to the burn
center.

Park officials say the temperature of the hot spring is unknown.
